Moisturise Like a Man
Ok, we know—rubbing your body down with lotion doesn’t seem like the most manly of tasks (and it’s certainly not part of a typical 5-minute shower routine). However, men’s skin actually needs moisture more than women’s! Due to a higher rate of skin-cell turnover and a lack of care, men’s skin is often parched and begging for hydration.
Face: Just kidding! Lotions designed for the body should NOT be used on your face. Your facial skin is thinner and more prone to irritation, so body moisturisers can clog your facial skin and cause multiple problems. Check out Alloy Facial Moisturiser for this step.
Arms and Chest: Focus on rough, dry areas like your elbows, hands, and parts of the back. Make sure to allow the product to fully absorb. After showering, it’s actually great to leave a bit of water on your skin and allow the lotion to lock that moisture in. For the manscapers out there, this step is critical!
Legs: Yes, this is a pain, but your legs are prone to dryness due to the constant friction of pants and your legs’ greater exposure to the elements. Proper moisture will keep itchiness at bay and prevent your legs from looking dull and flaky.
Feet: Apply a light coat of moisturiser to your feet, but avoid over-moisturising in between your toes (bacteria that causes fungal infection thrives in dark, damp places such as under your toenails and between your toes). Make sure to let it fully absorb before putting on socks!
